Public Relations and Communication Management: The State of the Profession
19th BledCom, which will take place on July 6 and 7, 2012 at Vila Bled, will ask: what is the current state of public relations and communication management?
We invite papers from academics and practitioners that may be conceptual or based on empirical data (using quantitative and qualitative methodologies). Case studies are also welcome.
Among other things, a series of longitudinal studies have been conducted especially in the past decade to assess the state of the practice in several regions and countries around the world. The findings from these studies would be very relevant to the theme. Further, studies that are not longitudinal but assess the growth of the profession are considered cogent to the theme as are papers that discuss whether public relations is institutionalized in organizations of any type, as a consulting or service industry, and in education and research. Moreover, abstracts could address questions how concepts like corporate communications, corporate branding and strategic communication are changing the profession.
